Challenging our Students Both Inside and Outside the Classroom

logo
Our curriculum is designed to be project-based, engaging and relevant to the world our students will encounter when they graduate. Learning is an exciting, life-long activity and we strive to spark that interest in all of our students, despite their post-high school goals. We offer a fully accredited diploma so the students may pursue many different options upon graduation. Most choose a four-year degree college/university and successfully earn their diplomas from a variety of universities. All of our courses are offered with an Honors component for those students who need to improve their GPA prior to graduation. Please view our accreditation tab for information on our international accreditation status.

Our school model is designed to best facilitate the emotional and academic needs of our students. Due to the therapeutic needs of our students, we have an intense, focused school day. We go to school year round and do not take typical state/federal holidays or vacation periods. With beginning high school juniors, 98% will complete high school with our program within their one year stay and some will begin college courses as well. Our program is very structured and focused on high school completion. That being said, we do require mastery learning . logo

All lessons are reviewed and revised one-on-one with the student's teacher until the student reaches his academic potential. This allows the students to master the subject and truly learn the material. We are focused on skill improvement, not just the accumulation of credits to meet graduation requirements.

We offer a combination of classroom, discussion-based courses and individualized tutoring using materials from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. A complete list of the core courses we offer is available on the website.
All courses are taught using a differentiated instructional philosophy. In other words, students are taught from where they are and are not expected to fit in to a standard mold defined by their age or grade level. All courses may also be completed with an honors component that is weighted in the GPA.

We are fully accredited by AdvancED. The AdvancED Accreditation Policies and Procedures represent the unified policies and procedures for accreditation from AdvancED's Accreditation Divisions: North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). More information on our accreditation can be found at: www.advanc-ed.org. Parents are encouraged to track their student’s progress through a web-based reporting system called BestNotes. Upon enrollment, the student’s parents will receive a letter explaining how to access the system and a PIN. Grades are updated weekly and anecdotal notes from teachers are completed around the 1st and 15th of each month.
